Casual Event Staff

Reports to: F&B Operations Managers
Supervises: Nil


To ensure the level and quality of meals, beverages and service is sufficient to provide customer satisfaction on a daily basis. To perform all Beverage and Operations duties.

Food & Beverage Attendant:

  1. To meet, greet and farewell patrons and to attend to their needs including menu clarification, taking orders, preparing and serving beverages according to the Clubs policies and procedures or individual requests.
  2. To deliver on selling options to patrons to enhance sales and the customers experience.
  3. To manage the cash register function including handling, credit and EFTPOS transactions, membership card transactions, balancing/reconciliation requirements and accurate record keeping.
  4. To ensure the cleanliness, safety and hygiene of the meal areas at all times.
  5. To manage opening, set up and closing procedures as per daily checklists.
  6. Clear and re-set tables in a standardized way.
  7. Work hours as per roster.
  8. Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks
  9. Draw beer from the tap or pour from bottles
  10. Mix ingredients to make cocktails and slice fruit to garnish drinks
  11. Prepare and serve a variety of coffees
  12. Refill drink dispensers
  13. Collect glasses from tables and place them in glass washing machines
  14. Wipe down tables
  15. Collect payment, operate cash registers and give change
  16. Arrange bottles and glasses on shelves
  17. Clean bar service area and polish glasses
  18. Assist in the cellar
  19. Assist in stock control
  20. Ensure the work environment complies with the Workplace Health and Safety Legislation.
  21. Consistently demonstrate professionalism, integrity, commitment, fairness and co-operation in all aspects of the above responsibilities.
  22. Other duties as request by the Supervisor.

Occupational Health and Safety Responsibilities

The general responsibilities of a staff member at this level include, but are not limited to:

  • Work in accordance with BRC’s OH&S Management System, operational procedures, work instructions and job safety analysis where relevant.
  • Co-operate and comply with all safety instructions given by supervisors, managers and/or those undertaking specific OH&S roles.
  • To immediately notify supervisors of any unsafe situation and not to work in any way that could endanger yourself or your fellow workers.
  • To use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) where required, and to report any breakages or failures that need replacement or rectification.
  • To ensure any item, sign barrier, guard, equipment etc. provided to ensure health and safety of personnel on site is not tampered with, modified or removed.
  • To suggest ways of eliminating hazards and improving occupational health and safety within the BRC.



  • BRC staff will comply with all internal policies, procedures and practices in force at any time.
  • BRC staff will comply with all legal requirements and reflect community expectations of corporate behaviour.
  • BRC staff will operate in accordance with the organisation’s core values.
  • The incumbent must be able to work outside normal business hours as HBC trades seven days per week.

.      Possession of current Queensland Responsible Service of Alcohol



  • Possession of Responsible Manager of Licensed Venue an advantage.
  • First Aid, Work Place Health & Safety Representative, Fire Safety Adviser
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to answer all guests enquiries
  • High level of organisational skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Exceptional grooming and presentation
  • Willingness to use initiative and solve problems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working in a Food & Beverage role is an advantage but not essential
  • Outstanding interpersonal and organisational skills
